Jon C. Allen, formerly Elon McDonough, 91, Rockford, Illinois, died at 5:19 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in Amberwood Care Center.

Born June 13, 1919, in Fillmore, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis and Mabel (Dilbeck) McDonough.  Lived 62 years in the Rockford area, coming from Peoria, Illinois.  Jon was a self-employed plasterer before retiring.  Jon loved to go to church and loved to sing religious songs.  He loved people in general.

Survivors include one son C. James McDonough, Folsom, California; two daughters Karen (Dan) Stubblefield, Rockford, Illinois, and Ruth (Kent) Aufrecht, Decatur, Illinois; five grandchildren Ken Stubblefield, Georgia, Cathleen Stubblefield and Charity (Joel) Flores, both from Indiana and Matthew Aufrecht and Emily Aufrecht, both from Illinois, and three great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and granddaughter, Annie.

A gathering of friends will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, August 15, 2010 in Gridley Congregational Church, 1101 Partridge, Beloit, Wisconsin.  Burial will be at a later date.  McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois assisted the family.
