GORDON
'TERRY' GALVIN, 63 BRODHEAD, Wis. - Gordon "Terry" Galvin, 63, of
Brodhead, Wis., area died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, in Pleasant View
Nursing Home.
Born May 17, 1945, in Rice Lake, Wis., the son of Gordon John and Avalon
June (Biel) Galvin. Graduated from Hononegah High School in Rockton,
Ill., in 1963.
Terry entered the U.S. Army April 8, 1968, in Rockford, Ill., serving as
a track mechanic. He was discharged Nov. 12, 1969, in Oakland, Calif.,
as SP 4, and was in the active reserve until April 7, 1974. He received
the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam
Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Mechanics Badge.
Terry married Anna Mae Smith on Oct. 10, 1986, in Monroe. He was a
mechanic in Loves Park, Ill., most of his life. Terry was a member of
Walter Graham American Legion Post 332 in Rockton.
Surviving are wife, Anna Mae Galvin of Brodhead; son, Ken (Rebecca
Seibel) Vickers of Voltaire, N.D.; daughters, Michelle (Lee) Liphart of
South Wayne and Bobbie Jo (Jeff) Stading of Juda; brother, Tim (Sandi)
Galvin of Shirland, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by parents; and brother, Michael. A celebration of Terry's
life from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 7, in Shriner-Hagler-Gohlke
Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Ave., Monroe.
A memorial fund is being established in Terry's memory.
